The Centre of Foreign Languages and Physical Education is an educational unit of the Kavala Institute of Technology, and is subject to the Councilʼs decisions. It offers foreign language courses for specific purposes, as well as physical education activities.  With courses provided by each department, the centre aims to equip students with the necessary language skills to be able to refer to foreign literature, search for information in databases and journals and communicate in a foreign language.

The centre is governed by a director and a 3-member council (Law 2916/11-6-01). The directorʼs tenure is three years and the council membersʼ tenure is for one year. The centre manages the instituteʼs foreign language and PE teaching staff.

Two foreign languages are taught in the institute - English and German. The English language is compulsory in all departments, while the German is either compulsory or optional, depending on the student's programme.

A permanent professor and a sufficient number of temporary teachers who are specialized in various sports also staff the centre. The sports that are taught are:

Muscle strengthening 
Rhythmic Gymnastics 
Basketball
Football 
TAE KWON DO 
Aerobic Gymnastics 
Traditional dances

Sporting activities take place in the closed gym and the institutes other sports facilities
